Answer: The USTA is divided into sections (Southern, Mid-Atlantic, Mid-West, etc.), and Georgia is in the Southern Section. USTA in Georgia is divided into sections, generally along county lines. Rockdale, Newton, Walton, Jasper, and Morgan counties are in the Piedmont Area Tennis Association section (PATA). You can find information regarding PATA on their website at http://www.patatennis.com/
Question: Who is responsible for running the Adult tennis leagues? Answer: The Local League Coordinator (LLC) holds this responsibility and can be contacted at adultllc@patatennis.com
Question: Can the LLC put me on a PATA team? Answer: No
Question: Then how do I get on a PATA team? Answer: You should determine your rating (2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, etc.) and then contact the Captain of a team at that level to get the team number. Then you can register for the team at http://national.usta.com/leagues/ and click on Register for a Team.
Question: How do I get in touch with a Captain of a team? Answer: This is difficult answer because we do not have the same Captains every season. When a league is ready to start, a notice is sent to all people who have signed up on the PATA email list. If a person wants to act as Captain, he/she can go to http://national.usta.com/leagues/ and sign up a team. A team number will be assigned. The Captain then gives this number to players who can register to play on that team. PATA does not know who the Captains will be until registration has been completed. A list of captains of previous teams can be found on the PATA website.
Question: Is there any other way to get on a team? Answer: Yes, you can sign up on the “Player Looking for a Team List” on the PATA website. The any Captains who need players can get in touch with you. |
